What is the latest time I have to check out on the day of departure?
We kindly ask you to vacate your room by 10:00 am. The room card is valid until 10:00 a.m.
What do I do with my room card on departure?
Please put the room card in the wooden box at the reception in the lobby.
Where can I park?
The parking spaces on the SIGA premises (100 m below the Guesthouse) are available to you free of charge.
Where can I charge my electric car?
E-cars can be charged free of charge at the charging points in the SIGA car park.

What is the history behind the SIGA Guesthouse?
- 1840: Originally constructed.
- 1840–1939: Served as a shelter for the poor and orphans.
- 1939–1991: Functioned as the retirement home of Ruswil.
- 1898: A chapel was added to the site, which is a listed historical monument.
- 2002–2005: Temporarily used as a residence for asylum seekers.
- 2005–2013: The building remained unoccupied.
- 2013–2014: Underwent complete deconstruction and reconstruction.
- Since 2014: Reopened as the SIGA Guesthouse, offering 75 rooms.
What time is the night's rest?
We kindly ask you to stay in the guesthouse after 22:00.
Where can I find the WLAN password?
The network is called "SIGA-Public". You will find the access code in your room or at the reception desk in the lobby.
Where can I smoke?
Smoking is only allowed outside, in front of the building.
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the building and at the windows of the rooms.
Where can I rent a bicycle?
Bicycles incl. helmet are available in the garden hut behind the guesthouse.
The garden hut can be opened with the room card.
Can I use the fireplace behind the Guesthouse?
In the garden shed (accessible with your room card), you’ll find a large container with firewood and kindling. Please do not take any wood from the walls of the shed under any circumstances.
What are the breakfast hours?
Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 08:30 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday upon request
Where can I get something hot to drink?
The coffee machine in the breakfast room on the ground floor is available for tea and coffee 24h free of charge.
How can I pay at the drinks and goods vending machine in the lobby?
The machine only accepts credit cards, no cash.
I need a razor or a toothbrush. Can I get one from you?
You can find razors and toothbrushes in the vending machine in the lobby. The machine only accepts credit cards, no cash.
Where can I wash and dry my private laundry?
There is a washing machine with dryer (detergent provided) in the basement of the guesthouse (stairs behind the guesthouse). The door can be opened with your badge or room card; otherwise, ask a guesthouse employee.
How do I get CHF?
There are various cash machines in the centre of Ruswil. All machines accept foreign cards.

I have lost my room card. What should I do?
You can use your reservation number to create a new room card at the check-in tablet in the lobby. You will find your reservation number in your reservation confirmation and on the registration form that you received by email on the day of arrival. In case of emergency, please contact your SIGA representative or call the emergency number: +41 79 221 66 75
I have lost something or forgotten something in my room - what now?
We do not accept any liability for items left behind. Your lost property can be sent to you on request. Please contact us by e-mail at guesthouse@siga.swiss.
What do I do in case of fire?
- Alert the fire brigade: Activate the fire alarm or call 118.
- Keep calm.
- Leave the guesthouse immediately and go to the assembly point. This is located below the guesthouse in the large car park.
